Body by Vi | Exercise Routine
Although ViSalus products are nutritional products, the Body by Vi Challengers community really encourages physical exercise. I was already working out prior to my Challenge, but after getting involved with ViSalus I wanted to know more. I began educating myself on effective workout programs to get better results.
First of all, I hate running. I don’t think I’m good at it, my ankles hurt, and actually today I was told I “run like a girl”. While doing some research I found out that running really may not be neccessary and can even do some harm to your body. Saying this, I don’t want to tick the runners off and if you are a runner I think that’s fantastic! I know a lot of people doing the Couch to 5K. I think that’s really cool, just not for me. I found out that cardio intervals are a great way to incorporate cardio into your strength training, and that it may actually burn more fat and calories than just cardio alone or weightlifting alone.
I personally like to do strength training with cardio intervals about 4 days a week, incorporating cardio-only days inbetween. So this puts me in the gym or just workin’ out in my living room, about 5-6 days a week total. I try to have only 1 rest day where I do neither. I really like a lot of Jillian Michaels’ techniques and advice. I found this link where she talks about taking a rest day. I have also read that every couple of months, it’s good to take about a week of rest. I don’t really schedule or plan this, it just sort of happens for me. I think my body knows when I need a break. I tend to get over plateaus when I do this as well. Speaking of plateaus, be sure to change up your routine every few weeks and increase weight! This really helps me! Sometimes I get so stuck on the same thing and then I realize I’m stuck with results too!

I do believe that weight-loss and good health really are, as they say, 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. You can burn your tires all day long but if you aren’t getting the nutrition your body needs, you aren’t going to get anywhere. As I’ve stated many times, I used to always began my workout routine in the spring to get me bathing suit ready. I had started working out again, about 3 months prior to getting on the Body by Vi Challenge. I did see some results, but when I began using the ViSalus products I started seeing better results and a lot quicker. There are also those individuals that can not work out because of health reasons, or they don’t feel like they can’t because they have no energy. What I have noticed with the Body by Vi Challenge is that many people that can’t or won’t workout prior to the starting the challenge, still lose weight and once they do, they are able to work out and actually enjoy it!
